We are in the process of giving Pool 1 Clubhouse a makeover (Nothing Major) so we can get it open for similar usage. Details to come soon.

Trash Haul Away
(April 16, 2021)
Dear Presidents & Representatives
At our last Zoom meeting, one item that was discussed was what to do with the challenges of removing large items from one’s household that would not fit or be allowed in Hillcrest’s many building’s trash containers. As we know, each of Hillcrest building's trash containers is intended for resident's everyday waste and smaller items.
Items such as mattresses, furniture, cabinets, sofas, chairs, large appliances, water heaters, a/c units, electronics and construction waste resulting from renovations, etc. are required to be moved by the homeowner to the local municipal waste depot. Although our local depot is close and less than two miles away, larger items become a challenge and require a pickup truck, access to one, or a rental vehicle, including some muscle to move the objects.
The question of having a quarterly pickup of these larger waste items that would visit all the Hillcrest Buildings of HCPC was voiced but that would mean unsightly gatherings of waste at each building prior to pickup.
Another thought was to have quarterly a bin for large items stationed at Pool 2 for instance. But this would still not solve the issue of transporting to that site.
The preferred approach would be to use a company that comes by to your resident’s unit and picks up the large items and removes them either for reuse, recycle or transport to the local Municipal waste depot. Understandably, there will be a charge for that service depending on the amount removed.
Jim Bowers from Bldg#3 contacted one such company, CARL of Myers Construction Company, a licensed and insured but relatively small local contractor. They would contract with individual owners in Hillcrest for the removal of items that cannot be placed in the building dumpsters. Prices would be determined by the amount of the haul away. There is no limit on how much they will take away. Examples might be a refrigerator, a mattress or even an entire kitchen during a remodel. They can be reached at (954) 895-7900.
Please notify your residents of this alternative method for the removal of large items.
